Lifestyle Newborn Session | Edith | Portland, Oregon

This blog post is a long time coming, especially since this little girl is half a year old now! We took these photos back in February, before the pandemic hit and in the midst of my family and I moving homes. Needless to say, i’ve been a bit absent on the blog and social media front, but still very much doing photography, albeit now diligent about social distancing since those measures have been in place.

You might recognize this sweet family, Andy and Lisa who are good friends and repeat clients. I’ve been fortunate to take their maternity photos and Insley’s newborn photos over the years, so I was super excited when they asked me to photograph their new addition, Edith in their home in North Portland. It was the perfect location, creating a comfortable setting for these photographs. It was so fun to see big sister Insley interact with her new sister and to see how much she’s grown since I last saw her! I absolutely love these at home lifestyle newborn shoots because I get to capture authentic interactions, which is basically photographers gold.

The many faces of a newborn.

Perfect overcast soft window light

Insley has a photo in front of that teddy bear too as a newborn!

These just get me in the feels.

Sessions with little ones are dynamic. They like to move and groove and I love capturing them in their element.

Probably my favorite photo of the bunch. This little girl is so loved.
